NAACP Youth Mission

Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.
Whether we’re at a local city hall meeting, across states, visiting local BSUs and ethnic clubs or, having a monthly zoom call to debrief, we are always striving to ensure youth know of the troubles that are brought upon us in todays world and how to overcome them and inform others of the same truths.
The NAACP has been around since 1909 fighting for the same cause. The youth and college chapter was created in 1936 to establish the same aims but at a younger demographic. Youth tend to be at the forefront of social movements which is why it’s so important that we have the chance to strengthen our activism and awareness in young leaders.
As far as events, we’ve hosted Earn our vote with the Oceanside city council and our annual Black History Brunches with the intent to do more. We’ve attended National conferences across the U.S, State conferences in L.A, Legislative day at the Capitol, and have taken numerous educational field trips that were offered to both members and highschool students that we work with.
Alongside fun traveling, we also do plenty of community service and get to connect with young people from all over. These connections last a lifetime and build skills that are great to have for future jobs and opportunities.
